Bodega Ergo Tank!
Tank! is a monumental Experimental Beer that bridges the worlds of fire cider and heavy ale. This still, 14% ABV elixir presents a deep mahogany hue, delivering an olfactory tapestry of caramelized apple, honey, and the vinous depths of Lachrima Christi grapes. The palate is defined by the concentrated sweetness of boiled apple must, balanced by the sharp acidity of Crabapples and a robust Barleywine base. Extended maturation in bourbon barrels weaves in layers of toasted oak and vanilla. It is a viscous, decadent, and profoundly warming liquid that manages a sophisticated balance despite its immense strength.
Appearance. Deep mahogany to dark copper; brilliant clarity with no foam or lacing due to its completely still nature. High viscosity is apparent in the glass.
Aroma. High intensity; rich caramelized apple and honey dominate, followed by deep vinous notes of dark grape and raisin. Secondary aromas of vanilla, coconut, and charred oak from the bourbon barrel maturation meld with a bready, toffee-like malt backbone.
Taste. Initial impression of intense concentrated fruit sweetness and honey, quickly countered by the tannic snap of Crabapples and vinous grape character. The Barleywine base provides a sturdy toasted malt flavor. Hop bitterness is absent, with the balance driven by fruit acidity and wood tannins. Finish is long, warming, and complex with lingering notes of dark fruit and bourbon.
Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and syrupy; velvety texture with no carbonation. Significant, well-integrated alcohol warmth provides a soothing chest glow. Very low astringency.
