This German Pils radiates a brilliant straw-gold clarity, reflecting its extensive four-week cold conditioning. The aroma leads with moderately high floral and herbal hop notes characteristic of traditional European varieties, supported by a delicate backdrop of grainy, doughy Continental Pilsner malt and a faint hint of honey. On the palate, a soft, subtle malt sweetness is rapidly eclipsed by a firm, clean bitterness. The finish is remarkably crisp and dry, highlighting the mineral-forward water profile of the Preseli Hills. This refreshing lager balances its lean frame with a lingering herbal snap, epitomizing the classic, elegant profile of a refined pilsner.
Appearance. Straw to deep yellow (2–4 SRM). Brilliant clarity. Pours with a dense, creamy, long-lasting white head that leaves fine lacing on the glass.
Aroma. Moderate to moderately-high intensity. Dominant floral and spicy hop character. Low grainy, sweet, and cracker-like malt presence. Clean fermentation profile with no esters or diacetyl.
Taste. Initial grainy-sweet malt flavor is quickly suppressed by a medium-high hop bitterness. Hop flavors are floral and herbal. The finish is very dry and crisp with a clean aftertaste and a lingering, pleasant bitterness that remains balanced.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with high carbonation. Crisp and refreshing without being harsh or astringent. No perceived alcohol warmth.
