This American IPA showcases a vibrant sensory profile driven by a heavy-handed addition of Citra hops. Despite its sessionable ABV, it delivers an assertive aroma of grapefruit, lime zest, and tropical melon that defines its character. The appearance is a bright gold with a persistent white head. On the palate, the Citra hops provide intense citrus peel and stone fruit flavors, supported by a clean, lean malt backbone that offers hints of light grain and crackers. A firm, refreshing bitterness leads to a crisp, dry finish, balancing the hop-forward intensity while maintaining a remarkably drinkable and traditional profile.
Appearance. Medium gold color (approx. 7 SRM); clear with a brilliant shimmer. Large, white, frothy head with excellent persistence and significant lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent citrus (grapefruit, lime), tropical fruit (passionfruit), and light floral notes. Low, clean, grainy-sweet maltiness supports the hops. Fermentation is very clean with negligible esters.
Taste. Initial impression of sharp citrus and tropical hops. Medium-high hop bitterness provides a crisp edge. Low, grainy, and slightly bready malt flavor provides a neutral foundation. Hop flavor is high, echoing the citrus and melon from the aroma. Finish is dry and clean with a lingering, pleasant bitterness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, crisp texture. Moderate to high carbonation provides a lively effervescence. No alcohol warmth is detected. No astringency.
