This Triple West Coast IPA is an aggressive sensory showcase of New Zealand terroir, featuring a potent trio of Riwaka, Nelson Sauvin, and Pacific Sunrise hops. The profile leads with intense aromas of crushed white grapes, passionfruit, and a distinct diesel edge from the Riwaka. On the palate, expect a surge of lime and orange citrus from Pacific Sunrise, layered over a lean, dry malt base that emphasizes high bitterness. Despite its 9.5% ABV, the beer remains exceptionally drinkable with a clean finish and a lingering, resinous hop punch typical of the style.
Appearance. Deep gold to light copper (8-10 SRM); clear with a moderate-sized, persistent white head that leaves significant lacing.
Aroma. Intense hop aroma characterized by gooseberry, white grape, and passionfruit. Subtle diesel and resinous notes from the Riwaka hops are present, supported by a very low, neutral, grainy malt background and a clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Strong, complex hop flavors dominated by tropical fruit, citrus zest, and crushed wine grapes. Very high bitterness that is firm but not harsh. Malt flavor is low and unobtrusive, providing a dry, cracker-like support. The finish is very dry with a lingering, clean hop bitterness and a hint of smooth alcohol.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth texture; medium-high carbonation. There is a noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth, without any hop-derived astringency.
