This Double IPA radiates a vibrant, modern profile driven by a sophisticated hop selection including Cryo Pop, HBC 520, and The Bruce. The sensory experience is dominated by an explosion of tropical fruit—specifically passionfruit and gooseberry—layered over ripe stone fruit and bright citrus notes. While the hop intensity is high, the clean, neutral malt base ensures a focused delivery of saturated lupulin character. A smooth 8% ABV provides a subtle, integrated warmth that complements the dry, crisp finish. Brimming with New Zealand and modern American hop traits, it remains remarkably drinkable despite its assertive bitterness and complex aromatic layering.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange (7–9 SRM) with a moderate-sized, persistent off-white head that leaves delicate lacing. Clarity ranges from clear to a modern slight haze.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward bouquet featuring prominent tropical fruit (passionfruit, pineapple), stone fruit (peach, apricot), and bright citrus. Low, neutral, grainy malt support in the background with a clean fermentation profile and a very light, smooth alcohol note.
Taste. Initial impression is an intense burst of tropical and stone fruit hop flavors from HBC 520 and The Bruce. High bitterness is firm and clean, never harsh. The malt character is low and unobtrusive, providing a soft, neutral base. Finishes dry and crisp with a lingering aftertaste of resinous citrus and berry notes from the Cryo Pop blend.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, almost creamy texture. Moderate to high carbonation provides a crisp lift. Noticeable but well-restrained alcohol warmth is present without any harsh astringency.
