This Double IPA presents an intense sensory interplay driven by a potent hop trio of Citra, Chinook, and Amarillo. Citra leads with vibrant waves of mango and zesty lime, while Amarillo contributes deep notes of orange marmalade and soft floral blossoms. Chinook grounds the profile with a classic, resinous pine and spicy grapefruit bitterness. Despite its 7.8% ABV, the beer remains exceptionally drinkable with a clean, lean malt backbone that allows the hop oils to shine. It finishes crisp and dry, leaving a lingering trail of citrus pith and evergreen needles against a smooth, slightly warming backdrop.
Appearance.Deep gold to pale copper (7–9 SRM) with a slight, modern haze. Features a dense, persistent off-white head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.
Aroma.Intense hop-forward bouquet featuring grapefruit, tropical mango, and navel orange. Strong resinous pine and earthy spice notes emerge as it warms. Malt is secondary, showing as low, neutral cracker or light bread crust. Clean fermentation with very low pear-like esters.
Taste.High bitterness that is firm but smooth, never harsh. Vibrant flavors of citrus zest and resinous wood dominate the palate. Very low malt sweetness provides just enough support before a bone-dry, lingering bitter finish. No caramel or heavy toast notes are present, ensuring the hop profile remains the focal point.
Mouthfeel.Medium body with a smooth, velvety texture. Carbonation is moderate-high, providing a crisp bite. A light, pleasant alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated, without any solvent-like astringency.
