Celebrating their 6th Anniversary, BlackStack Brewing delivers an intensely aromatic Double IPA that commands attention with its 12% ABV strength. The sensory experience is dominated by high-intensity modern American hops, bursting with saturated notes of ripe mango, juicy pineapple, and a touch of dank resin. A clean, supporting malt backbone ensures the hop character remains the focus, balancing the firm bitterness. Despite its formidable strength, the profile remains smooth, offering a warming finish and complex tropical fruit esters that reflect the brewery's signature style. It is a bold, festive expression of the style, marrying massive hop saturation with a lingering, bitter-sweet complexity.
Appearance. Gold to light copper in color (8-10 SRM) with a slight, modern haze. Features a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. Intensity is high, dominated by a prominent hop profile of tropical fruit, citrus zest, and resinous pine. A supportive, neutral to grainy maltiness remains in the background with a clean fermentation profile and noticeable but smooth alcohol.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of tropical and citrus hop flavors. Moderately high bitterness is firm but smooth, avoiding harshness.
