This American IPA pays homage to the "left coast" with a snappy, bright sensory profile built on a vibrant blend of Mosaic, Idaho 7, and the experimental HBC 1019. The result is a nostalgic, hop-forward experience where Mosaic delivers its signature layers of blueberry and stone fruit, while Idaho 7 adds piney resin and tropical depth. HBC 1019 introduces a unique complexity, offering hints of melon and citrus zest. A lean malt bill keeps the focus entirely on the hops, leading to a crisp, dry finish that balances firm bitterness with an array of sun-drenched tropical fruit notes and a clean, refreshing character.
Appearance. Pours a brilliant medium gold with exceptional clarity and a thick, persistent white head that leaves intricate lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of blueberry, mango, and pine from the Mosaic and Idaho 7. HBC 1019 contributes a distinct tropical melon and citrus profile. Low, clean, grainy malt sweetness resides in the background with a neutral fermentation character.
Taste. A burst of tropical fruit and resinous pine leads the palate. Mid-palate reveals apricot and grapefruit zest supported by a very low, bready malt presence. The hop bitterness is firm and assertive, typical of the style, driving toward a very dry, clean finish with a lingering citrus and berry aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, crisp texture. Moderate-high carbonation provides a snappy, refreshing bite. A very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present at the finish without any harshness.
