This decadent Imperial Stout commands attention with an intricate sensory profile shaped by extensive aging in Fierce Rye Whiskey and Wyoming Distilleries barrels. An assertive bouquet of bittersweet chocolate, espresso, and charred oak is elevated by the distinctive spicy snap of rye grain from the whiskey barrels. On the palate, luscious layers of blackstrap molasses and dried figs intertwine with a spirited warmth reflecting the 12% ABV. The barrel influence contributes deep vanilla and toasted coconut undertones, rounding out the aggressive roasted bitterness. Velvety and viscous, it concludes with a lingering, complex finish characterized by peppery spice and dark-roast cocoa.

Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque (40+ SRM). Pours with a dense, dark tan head that shows moderate retention and leaves significant lacing; high viscosity is evident through thick legs on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity featuring a complex blend of dark chocolate, roasted coffee, and black licorice. The whiskey barrels add prominent notes of spicy rye, toasted oak, and vanilla. Moderate esters suggest dried plums and raisins, while a smooth, clean alcohol presence underlies the aromatic profile.

Taste. Initial impression is rich and intensely malty with flavors of espresso and burnt grain. The mid-palate reveals dark fruit complexity, including figs and black currants. Rye whiskey influence provides a distinctive peppery spice that cuts through the sweetness. Bitterness is firm and assertive, balanced by a heavy malt backbone. The finish is long and warming with a lingering bittersweet cocoa and oak character.
