This Imperial Stout is a decadent sensory journey, presenting a complex interplay of deep roasted grains and barrel-derived nuances. The aroma is dominated by dark chocolate, espresso, and a prominent layer of aromatic vanilla beans. Significant oak aging contributes subtle tannins and a smooth woody structure that tempers the 12% ABV. On the palate, expect intense flavors of black currants and figs alongside bittersweet cocoa. The mouthfeel is exceptionally viscous and chewy, finishing with a lingering, warming sweetness that integrates charred oak notes. It is a harmonious, powerful expression of the style, balancing intensity with a velvety, dessert-like texture.

Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque (SRM 40+). Pours with a thick, deep tan head of moderate retention that leaves significant lacing and visible legs on the glass due to high viscosity.

Aroma. High intensity with a rich blend of roasted coffee, bittersweet chocolate, and burnt grain. The secondary conditioning on vanilla beans provides a strong aromatic sweetness, complemented by woody oak notes and a hint of toasted coconut. Subtle dark fruit esters of plum and raisin are present.

Taste. Intense initial impression of dark cocoa and espresso. The malt profile is deep and complex, showing bread crust and caramel underlying the dominant roast. Vanilla beans add a creamy, sweet layer that rounds out the aggressive roasted bitterness. The finish is long and warming with lingering notes of charred oak and dark fruit.

Mouthfeel. Full to very full-bodied with a luscious, chewy, and velvety texture. Carbonation is low to moderate, enhancing the beer's weight. A smooth, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present without being sharp or solventy.
