This powerful Double IPA showcases a vibrant sensory profile fueled by a sophisticated blend of Citra, HBC586, and Talus hops. The aroma leads with an intense burst of mango, guava, and pink grapefruit, layered with subtle floral notes of rose and a hint of sage. On the palate, the bitterness is firm yet clean, cutting through a light, grainy malt base to highlight saturated tropical fruit flavors. At 9.7% ABV, the beer offers a smooth, well-integrated warmth that enhances its medium-bodied texture. It finishes dry and crisp, leaving a lingering, resinous trail of citrus peel and exotic tropical fruit.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange-copper (7-9 SRM). Good clarity with a dense, persistent off-white head and excellent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent mango and lychee from HBC586, citrus and passion fruit from Citra, and a distinct floral, grapefruit, and sage character from the Talus. Supporting malt is clean and neutral with a slight grainy note. Fermentation is clean with very low fruity esters.
Taste. Strong hop flavor mirroring the citrus and tropical aroma. High bitterness that is firm but smooth, lacking harshness. The malt character is low, clean, and supportive without being sweet. Drier finish with a lingering hoppy aftertaste of resin and citrus pith. Smooth, light alcohol flavor is present.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly oily texture. Carbonation is moderate-high. Noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth is present. No hop-derived astringency.
