Quantum Suicide is a decadent Imperial Stout that pours like liquid midnight. A robust foundation of Maris Otter and Red X provides a biscuity, deep-red core, supporting an intricate layering of Chocolate, Roasted Barley, and Black malts that deliver intense notes of bittersweet cocoa and espresso. The addition of Oats, Wheat, and Carapils creates a luxurious, velvety texture, while Crystal and Caraaroma contribute dark fruit undertones. Clean bitterness from Magnum hops balances the residual sweetness. Fermented with WLP002, the profile remains rich and focused, offering a warming finish that echoes the dark, complex character of the roasted grains.
Appearance. Opaque jet black (40+ SRM) with a dense, persistent, dark tan head. High viscosity is evident by the visible legs on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity of rich roasted malts, featuring dominant notes of dark chocolate and smooth coffee. Moderate esters of dried plum and fig are present, alongside a very low earthy hop character and a clean, warming alcohol presence.
