This decadent English Barley Wine presents a masterful fusion of traditional British malt complexity and nuanced barrel maturation. The aroma is dominated by rich toffee and caramel, layered with the vinous, nutty oxidation of Tawny Port barrels. The addition of roasted chestnuts introduces an earthy, savory depth that complements the dark fruit esters of plum and raisin. On the palate, a velvety, chewy texture carries flavors of toasted bread and sweet malt, balanced by a gentle earthy hop presence and a smooth, warming 11% alcohol finish. It is a sophisticated, slow-sipping ale with a lingering, sophisticated wood-aged character and exceptional depth.

Appearance. Deep mahogany with brilliant ruby highlights (18–22 SRM). Persistent but thin off-white head with low retention; significant viscosity creates visible legs on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity; deeply malty with layers of toffee, caramel, and toasted bread. Strong dark fruit esters of raisin and fig are augmented by a vinous, nutty port character. Subtle earthy notes from roasted chestnuts and a low, floral hop aroma.

Taste. Rich, multi-layered malty sweetness featuring biscuit and dark caramel. Prominent dark fruitiness blends into a complex vinous middle with oak and red wine notes. Roasted chestnuts provide a unique nutty undertone. Medium-low bitterness; the finish is lingering and moderately sweet with a smooth, warming alcohol presence.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and chewy with a luscious, velvety texture. Low carbonation. A noticeable, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present without being harsh. Minimal astringency.
