This massive Imperial Stout presents an opulent sensory journey, shaped by two years of maturation in Buffalo Trace and Finch distillery whiskey barrels. The aroma is dominated by rich Livstory Chocolate cocoa nibs and layers of charred oak, vanilla, and dark fruit. On the palate, the sheer viscosity of the 15% ABV base is balanced by the subtle addition of salt flakes, which amplifies the bittersweet chocolate and espresso notes while cutting through the residual sweetness. Expect deep waves of toasted malt and spirit-soaked wood, finishing with a lingering, smooth warmth that reflects its extended barrel aging.

Appearance. Jet black and opaque (SRM 40+). Pours with a thin, dark tan head with low retention, leaving viscous legs on the glass due to high alcohol and cocoa oils.

Aroma. High intensity; deep roasted malt providing espresso and bittersweet chocolate notes. Significant barrel character from Buffalo Trace and Finch whiskey barrels, featuring vanilla, toasted oak, and coconut. Low dark fruit esters of prune and raisin. Smooth, spirituous alcohol presence.

Taste. Initial rich sweetness of dark chocolate and caramel. The Livstory Chocolate cocoa nibs provide a decadent mid-palate, enhanced by salt flakes which sharpen the roasted flavors and provide a savory counterpoint. Moderate-low perceived bitterness. The finish is long and warming with whiskey-soaked wood and a lingering bittersweet cocoa character.

Mouthfeel. Very full-bodied and chewy; velvety, viscous texture. Low carbonation. Significant but smooth alcohol warmth that is well-integrated. Creamy and mouth-coating.
