Blackout Brewing

This Hazy IPA radiates with an opaque, straw-colored glow, offering an immediate sensory immersion into a tropical orchard. A massive dry-hopping regime featuring Citra, Mosaic Cryo, and HBC586 creates a saturated aroma of ripe mango, guava, and lychee. The Mosaic Cryo hops contribute concentrated notes of blueberry and citrus zest, while the experimental HBC586 adds a layer of complex stone fruit. The palate is remarkably soft, characterized by a pillowy texture that carries flavors of tangerine and pineapple across the tongue. It maintains a gentle, rounded bitterness that balances the juicy fruit profile, finishing clean with a lingering essence of sweet citrus peel.

Appearance. Straw to light golden (4-6 SRM). Opaque, uniform haze with a luminous quality. Pours with a dense, rocky, meringue-like white head that shows exceptional retention and leaves thick, decorative lacing.

Aroma. Intense hop aroma characterized by a tropical and citrus fruit explosion: mango, guava, pineapple, and grapefruit. The HBC586 provides unique lychee and herbal accents. Background malt is low, presenting as light bread or flour. Clean fermentation profile with no distracting esters or alcohol heat.

Taste. High fruity hop flavor mirroring the aroma, featuring vibrant tangerine, blueberry, and stone fruit. Malt flavor is low, providing a neutral, lightly bready foundation. Bitterness is low to medium-low and notably smooth, lacking any harshness or 'hop burn.' The finish is off-dry to medium, leaving a persistent impression of tropical fruit juice.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, creamy, and pillowy mouthfeel. Moderate carbonation. Very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth. Smooth and round on the palate with no detectable astringency.
