This Hazy IPA offers a lush, tropical experience driven by a trifecta of modern hop varieties. The interplay of Nectaron and Nelson Sauvin creates a complex profile of ripe stone fruit, white wine, and crushed gooseberry, while Citra provides a bright citrus backbone of grapefruit and lime zest. A soft, pillowy body supports these intense aromatics, leading into a juicy palate where passionfruit and peach notes dominate. With its characteristic opacity and restrained bitterness, the focus remains entirely on the hop-derived juiciness, finishing with a gentle, fruity persistence that highlights the vibrant interplay between New Zealand and Pacific Northwest hop character.
Appearance. Straw to light orange in color (4-6 SRM) with a characteristic opaque haze and a healthy shine. It supports a dense, meringue-like white head with excellent retention and thick, sticky lacing.
Aroma. High-intensity hop aroma featuring dominant notes of passionfruit, peach nectar, and gooseberry. Supporting layers of sweet grapefruit and lime zest are present. Malt is low and neutral, appearing as light grainy sweetness with no caramel or toast. Fermentation is clean with supportive fruity esters.
Taste. Initial impression is a massive wave of tropical fruit, including lychee, white grape, and fuzzy peach. Low bready malt flavor provides a neutral base for the hop expression. Perceived bitterness is low-to-moderate and very soft, never sharp. The finish is off-dry and juicy with a long, lingering aftertaste of tropical fruit and citrus peel.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, silky, and pillowy texture. Carbonation is moderate. It lacks any harshness or hop astringency, providing a smooth, well-rounded mouthfeel with just a hint of alcohol warmth.
