This Imperial Stout offers a decadent, multi-layered sensory experience. The base reveals intense roasted notes of dark chocolate and espresso, further enriched by a generous addition of toasted coconut. The aging process in Woodford Reserve and Guyana Rum barrels introduces complex layers of spicy oak, vanilla, and dark molasses. On the palate, the interplay between the bitter roast and the sweet, tropical coconut creates a harmonious cake-like profile. Expect a lingering, velvety finish where the warmth of the high alcohol is well-integrated with residual sweetness and a touch of spirit character, all while maintaining the bold, roasty integrity of the style.

Appearance. Jet black and opaque (SRM 40+). A dense, dark tan head with moderate retention leaves thick, oily legs on the glass, indicative of its high viscosity and alcohol content.

Aroma. High intensity. Bold aromas of dark chocolate, freshly roasted coffee, and toasted coconut dominate. These are supported by deep notes of vanilla, caramel, and spicy oak from the Woodford Reserve barrels, alongside a dark, molasses-like sweetness from the Guyana Rum influence. Low earthy hop notes and moderate dark fruit esters like prunes and raisins are present.

Taste. Rich and complex. Initial flavors of bittersweet chocolate and espresso give way to a prominent toasted coconut sweetness. The barrel aging contributes distinct bourbon-soaked oak, vanilla, and a dark, rum-derived spice. Firm bitterness provides balance against the heavy malt and adjunct sweetness. The finish is long and warming, showing a blend of roasted grain, dark fruit, and lingering spirit character.

Mouthfeel. Full to very full-bodied with a chewy, velvety, and luscious texture. Carbonation is low to moderate. Significant but smooth alcohol warmth is present, enhancing the overall richness without being sharp or solventy.
