This Red IPA delivers a vibrant sensory experience that bridges the gap between rich malt complexity and punchy hop character. A robust backbone of caramel malts provides deep toffee and toasted bread notes, perfectly offsetting the high-intensity aroma of NZ-grown hops. These hops contribute a signature bouquet of zesty citrus and resinous pine that persists from the first sniff through to the palate. The experience culminates in a firm, bitter citrus finish that remains clean and crisp. It is a well-balanced expression of the style, marrying the sophistication of specialty malts with the bold, tropical-leaning profile of New Zealand’s finest hop varieties.
Appearance. Deep copper to reddish-amber (11–17 SRM) with brilliant clarity. It supports a moderate-sized, persistent off-white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. Moderate-high hop intensity featuring prominent notes of grapefruit, lime zest, and a touch of resinous pine. The hop profile is supported by a solid malt presence of sweet caramel, light toffee, and toasted biscuit. Clean fermentation profile.
Taste. A balanced initial hit of caramel and toffee malt sweetness is quickly followed by a bold hop bitterness. Flavors of orange peel and resin are evident, characteristic of the NZ-grown hops. The finish is dry to off-dry, leaving a lingering, clean citrus bitterness and a faint toasted malt aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate, and there is a very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth without any harsh astringency.
