This vibrant American IPA captures the supernatural essence of modern hop innovation. A brilliant collaboration between Black Plague and Abnormal, it showcases the highly coveted Nectaron hops, yielding intense aromas of ripe passion fruit and crisp stone fruit. The infusion of Citra and Citra Incognito amplifies the sensory experience with layers of juicy citrus, while Simcoe provides a clean, nuanced complexity. Despite its 7% ABV, the profile remains exceptionally crisp and refreshing, defined by a lean malt backbone and a hallmark dry finish. Mild bitterness provides structure without overwhelming the palate, ensuring the tropical and citrus hop characteristics remain the primary focus of this bright, expressive ale.
Appearance. Presents a brilliant clarity in a pale gold to medium gold hue (approx 6-7 SRM). Topped with a persistent, medium-sized white head that leaves delicate lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of tropical passion fruit, peach, and bright citrus zest. A low, clean, grainy maltiness provides a neutral backdrop. Fermentation is exceptionally clean with no noticeable esters or phenols.
Taste. Initial impression is hop-forward and refreshing. Malt flavor is low and neutral, providing a lean foundation for high hop flavors of mango, passion fruit, and grapefruit. Bitterness is moderate but smooth, lacking any harshness. The finish is remarkably dry and crisp, with a short, clean aftertaste of citrus oils and stone fruit.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a crisp, smooth texture. Carbonation is medium-high, contributing to a lively mouthfeel. Features a very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth without any astringency.
