Black Iris Brewery

Trapped Inside the Void presents as a quintessentially lush Hazy IPA, delivering an intense sensory experience driven by a heavy-hitting hop trio. The use of Citra Cryo in primary fermentation establishes a foundation of bright citrus and mango, while a generous dry-hopping of Mosaic Cryo and Cashmere adds layers of complex blueberry, tropical passion fruit, and subtle melon. This big juicy profile is supported by a soft, bready malt backbone that enhances the velvety texture without distracting from the hop-forward focus. The result is a vibrant, fruit-saturated profile that balances depth of character with a smooth, approachable finish.

Appearance. Pale straw to light gold (4-6 SRM); opaque with a characteristic hazy glow. Features a dense, meringue-like white head with high retention and thick lacing.

Aroma. High intensity, bursting with waves of ripe mango, pink grapefruit, and tropical papaya from the Citra and Mosaic. Subtle notes of lemon zest and sweet melon from Cashmere emerge alongside a clean, lightly bready malt scent.

Taste. Initial impression is a saturated burst of tropical fruit and citrus oils. Mid-palate reveals stone fruit and berry complexities. Perceived bitterness is moderate but well-integrated and masked by the soft grain character. Finishes off-dry and clean with a lingering fruity aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy texture and medium carbonation. A gentle alcohol warmth is present, reflecting the 7.2% ABV, but it remains smooth without any astringency or harshness.
