Black Iris Brewery Limp Biscoff

This Imperial Stout offers a decadent sensory journey, merging the intense roasty depths of a classic stout with the nostalgic, spiced warmth of Biscoff cookies. Dark chocolate and espresso notes provide a robust foundation for layers of caramelized biscuit, cinnamon, and subtle ginger. At 10% ABV, a smooth, integrated warmth elevates the complex bouquet of dark fruit esters and toasted grain. The experience is rich and indulgent, balancing aggressive roasted bitterness with the brown sugar sweetness of speculoos. It concludes with a long, velvety finish where lingering spices and bittersweet cocoa harmoniously meld into a sophisticated, full-bodied treat.
Appearance. Opaque jet black (SRM 40) with a thick, persistent deep tan head. High viscosity is evident through slow-forming legs on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity aroma featuring rich dark chocolate, roasted coffee, and a prominent Biscoff spice profile of cinnamon and nutmeg. Undercurrents of black cherry and plum esters mingle with a light, clean alcohol presence and toasted caramel maltiness.
Taste. The initial impression is a massive wave of bittersweet cocoa and espresso, quickly followed by the distinct flavors of spiced speculoos cookies and caramelized sugar. Firm bitterness provides structure against the dense malt backbone. The finish is long and warming, showcasing lingering notes of ginger and dark-roasted grain.
Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and exceptionally chewy with a luscious, velvety texture. Carbonation is low to moderate, providing just enough lift to the viscous frame. A gentle, smooth alcohol warmth is present throughout.
