This potent Double IPA is a vibrant showcase of modern hop processing, weaving together Citra, Strata, Galaxy, Nelson Sauvin, and Chinook into a saturated sensory experience. The aroma is dominated by a lush canopy of tropical pineapple and ripe peach, while the palate delivers a thick, velvety texture filled with notes of sticky melon and white grape. This collaboration highlights the versatility of its hop bill, balancing high-intensity fruit flavors with a clean, underlying graininess. Despite the significant strength, the finish remains remarkably smooth, allowing the resinous Chinook and citrusy Citra to linger without harshness, defining a masterfully expressive and aromatic ale.
Appearance. Pale gold to light orange-copper with a distinct, modern haze. Features a moderate-sized, persistent, creamy white head that leaves dense lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High-intensity hop aromatics featuring tropical pineapple, ripe peach, and sweet melon. Secondary notes of gooseberry and white grape from the Nelson Sauvin, complemented by a faint resinous pine and neutral, bready malt in the background.
Taste. Initial impression is an explosion of tropical fruit and stone fruit. Strong flavors of pineapple, melon, and peach are supported by a clean, soft malt backbone. Bitterness is firm and assertive but smooth and devoid of harshness. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering, resinous hop character and a light, clean alcohol presence.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a thick, juicy, and smooth texture. Carbonation is moderate, providing enough lift to balance the weight. Very low astringency with a subtle, well-integrated alcohol warmth.
