This refreshing American Light Lager elevates a minimalist base with intentional, modern hopping. Brewed with German pilsner malt and rice, the sensory profile is exceptionally clean and crisp. The cold fermentation and natural spunding create a delicate effervescence that carries sophisticated hop notes. Initial kettle additions of Anchovy, Citra, and Saphir establish a subtle foundation of citrus and floral spice. A generous dry hopping of Anchovy and Citra introduces vibrant layers of watermelon, lime, and soft tropical fruit without compromising the beer's lean structure. It is a highly drinkable, contemporary interpretation that balances traditional lager snap with a punchy, fruit-forward aromatic intensity.
Appearance. Very pale straw color (2 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a frothy, white head that displays moderate persistence for the style and light lacing.
Aroma. Moderate intensity featuring clean, grainy-sweet malt and rice. Elevated hop aromatics for the style include lemon zest and tropical citrus from Citra, joined by unique watermelon and subtle pine notes from Anchovy. A faint herbal and floral spice from Saphir is present. Clean fermentation profile with no esters.
Taste. Initial impression is neutral and crisp with a very low grainy malt flavor. Hop flavors are prominent, showcasing lime, soft melon, and a hint of floral spice. Bitterness is low but provides enough balance to ensure a bone-dry, refreshing finish. The aftertaste is clean and short with a slight lingering citrus note.
Mouthfeel. Very light body with a lean, crisp mouthfeel. Very high carbonation from natural spunding provides a lively, tingly carbonic bite on the tongue. No alcohol warmth or astringency.
