Terminator is a sophisticated Dark Doppelbock that pours a striking mahogany with brilliant ruby highlights. The sensory profile is dominated by a deep, complex malt backbone characterized by fragrant bread crust and rich Munich malt. Aromas of sultanas and concentrated dark fruits transition into a palate rich with dried fruit flavors and a delicate, whispering hint of bitter chocolate. Despite its 8% strength, the alcohol is expertly integrated, offering a smooth, velvet warmth. The finish is remarkably clean for such a robust beer, balancing its malt-forward sweetness with just enough moderate bitterness to remain highly drinkable and elegant.
Appearance. Mahogany to dark brown in color with excellent clarity and deep ruby highlights. It features a large, creamy, and persistent off-white head with good lacing.
Aroma. High intensity maltiness featuring rich Maillard products and toasted bread crust. Notable dark fruit esters including raisins, plums, and sultanas are present, complemented by a faint hint of chocolate and a clean lager fermentation profile. No hop aroma.
Taste. Very rich and malty-sweet with dominant flavors of toasted grain and bread crust. The mid-palate reveals complex notes of sultanas and dried fruit, leading to a subtle, non-roasted bitter chocolate finish. Hop bitterness is moderately low, providing balance without overtaking the malt. The finish is clean and smooth with lingering malt character.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full to full body with a smooth, creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate to moderately low. A gentle, well-integrated alcohol warmth is noticeable but lacks any harshness or astringency.
