On the palate, the experience is rich and enveloping, transitioning from the sweetness of blackcurrant to a structured, tannic bitterness. The finish is remarkably long and elegant, lingering with notes of syrupy cherry and a subtle mineral salinity. This complex yet drinkable ale beautifully integrates the local stone fruit against a clean, supportive malt base derived from the brewery’s signature Runa.
Appearance. Distinctive coral red color with a slight, natural haze. The head is pink-tinted, showing moderate retention and fine lacing.
Aroma. High intensity of stone fruit, specifically vivid Bella di Garbagna cherries. Secondary notes of wild berries and a subtle floral geranium ester. Malt is clean and understated, with virtually no hop aroma to ensure the fruit remains the focus.
Taste. Initial impressions of fresh cherry and blackcurrant sweetness are balanced by a mild tannic bitterness.
