Birra 100 Venti Apache
Apache presents a striking balance between its shadowy complexion and vibrant hop personality, quintessential for a Black Specialty IPA. The sensory journey begins with a fusion of toasted malts and light chocolate notes, seamlessly integrated with a bold American hop profile. Aromas of resinous pine and citrus zest rise from a deep mahogany pour, topped by a persistent tan head. On the palate, a smooth sweetness from the specialty malts meets a firm, clean bitterness, ensuring high drinkability despite the 6.3% ABV. The finish is notably dry and crisp, leaving a lingering trail of piney hops and subtle roasted coffee.
Appearance. Dark brown to near-opaque black (35 SRM) with a moderate-sized, persistent light tan head and delicate lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring resinous pine, grapefruit zest, and a hint of tropical fruit. The malt presence provides a moderate backdrop of toasted bread, light coffee, and a whisper of caramel sweetness with a clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Leading with a firm hop bitterness, the flavor balances citrusy and resinous hop notes with restrained roasted malt character. Nuances of dark chocolate and toast are present but never burnt or ashy. The balance leans toward the hops, finishing dry with a lingering, clean bitterness and a faint roasted grain aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, velvety texture. Carbonation is moderate, providing a crisp lift to the palate. A very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present.
