This bold Double IPA showcases an assertive sensory profile defined by its 100 IBUs of firm bitterness, expertly balanced against a substantial malt foundation. The centerpiece is a potent dry hopping of Citra, which radiates intense aromas of fresh citrus zest, grapefruit, and tropical lime. At 8% ABV, the beer offers a smooth, well-integrated alcohol warmth that supports the hop intensity without overshadowing it. Its character remains clean and hop-forward throughout, delivering a dry finish that highlights the complex citrus layers and resinous depth typical of the style, resulting in a powerful yet remarkably drinkable strong ale.

Appearance. Deep gold to light orange-copper (6–14 SRM) with good clarity and a moderate-sized, persistent off-white head that leaves fine lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by the citrus-forward character of Citra, featuring prominent notes of grapefruit, lime peel, and subtle tropical fruit. A clean, neutral, and slightly grainy malt presence provides a supportive background, accompanied by a very light, clean alcohol note and minimal fermentation esters.

Taste. Initial impression is a powerful wave of citrus and resinous hop flavor. The bitterness is very high but remains smooth and well-integrated. A supportive, clean malt backbone offers light grainy and toasted notes, providing balance without adding heavy sweetness. The finish is dry to medium-dry, leading into a long-lasting, clean, hoppy aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, velvety texture and no harsh hop-derived astringency. Carbonation is medium-high, contributing to a crisp delivery. A restrained and pleasant alcohol warmth is noticeable but smooth.
