This potent Double IPA draws inspiration from California’s high-gravity tradition, showcasing the complex profile of Equinox hops. An intense sensory experience, it opens with bold aromatics of lemon zest, lime, and tropical papaya, underpinned by a distinctive herbal and green pepper edge typical of the variety. Despite its 9.4% ABV, the beer maintains a sophisticated balance. A robust base of barley malts provides a clean, grainy foundation that supports the assertive bitterness without veering into cloying sweetness. The result is an extreme yet refined West Coast expression that finishes dry with a lingering resinous punch and well-integrated warmth.

Appearance. Deep gold to light copper (8–12 SRM) with good clarity, though a slight hop haze may be present. Topped with a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head that leaves significant lacing.

Aroma. High to intense hop aroma characterized by lemon peel, lime, papaya, and a unique herbal spiciness from the Equinox hops. Supported by a clean, neutral, and slightly grainy malt character in the background with a hint of smooth alcohol warmth.

Taste. Initial impression is an explosion of citrus and tropical hop flavors followed by a very high, firm bitterness that avoids harshness. Grainy and bready malt flavors provide a supportive but unobtrusive backbone. The finish is dry to medium-dry with a lingering, resinous, and hoppy aftertaste. Fermentation is clean with very low fruity esters.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, velvety texture. Carbonation is moderate. A noticeable, pleasant alcohol warmth is present but remains well-integrated and smooth, lacking any solventy heat.
