Cold Spark by Big Smoke Brew Co. is a session-strength American Pale Ale that belies its lower gravity with a vibrant sensory profile. Utilizing 100% Citra hops, the beer delivers an expressive bouquet of zesty lime, grapefruit, and a hint of tropical lychee. Despite its 3.6% strength, the addition of significant quantities of oats provides a surprising creaminess and a rounded, supportive body that balances the hop-forward character. The malt profile remains clean and neutral, allowing the signature citrus and floral notes of the Citra hops to take center stage. This refreshing ale offers a smooth, clean finish, providing a punchy hop experience in a highly drinkable format.

Appearance. Pale golden to light amber (6-8 SRM). Features a moderately large, white, frothy head with good retention and light lacing. Generally clear, though the use of oats may lend a very slight, attractive haze.

Aroma. Moderately high hop aroma dominated by Citra, showcasing bright grapefruit, lime peel, and tropical mango. Low, grainy, and neutral maltiness supports the hops, while fermentation is clean with very low fruity esters.

Taste. Initial impression is hop-forward with intense flavors of grapefruit and citrus zest. A low, bready malt presence provides a brief foundation before a moderate bitterness takes hold.
