This 2024 iteration of a Triple Dry-Hopped Double IPA is a sensory expedition defined by its aggressive hop-forward profile and unique terpene infusion. The synergy of El Dorado, Galaxy, and Strata hops creates a vibrant tapestry of tropical citrus fruits and candy-like sweetness. The addition of Sour Diesel terpenes elevates the aromatic experience with a profound, pungent dankness and sharp piney undertones. Despite its intense hop saturations, the beer maintains a soft, hazy structure that balances high bitterness with a smooth, lingering finish. It stands as a bold, resinous exploration of modern hop expression and botanical aromatic complexity.
Appearance. Pale gold to light orange; opaque haze with a persistent, thick, white head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.
Aroma. Intense and pungent aroma dominated by resinous dankness and herbal diesel notes from terpenes. Layers of overripe mango, passion fruit from Galaxy, and pineapple from El Dorado emerge alongside Strata’s signature strawberry-meets-cannabis character. Malt is negligible, appearing as a soft, neutral bready backdrop.
Taste. Initial impression of tropical fruit candy followed by a mid-palate of sharp resin and pine. El Dorado provides stone-fruit sweetness, while Galaxy and Strata offer citrus zest and herbal pungency. Bitterness is firm and assertive but lacks harshness, leading to a medium-dry, hop-saturated finish with a lingering dank aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a soft, creamy texture. Moderate carbonation provides a gentle lift. Alcohol warmth is subtle and well-integrated, with no hop-derived astringency despite the massive dry-hop load.
