This Hazy IPA showcases a saturated tropical and citrus profile driven by a heavy-hitting quartet of Idaho Gem, Centennial, Idaho 7, and Simcoe hops. The Lutra Kveik yeast provides an exceptionally clean fermentation canvas, allowing the complex notes of pineapple and stone fruit from Idaho 7 and the cherry-like accents of Idaho Gem to pop. Simcoe and Centennial add layers of resinous pine and bright grapefruit. It presents a smooth, juicy essence with a soft, pillowy texture and a restrained bitterness that prioritizes hop saturation over sharpness, finishing with a lingering burst of nectar-like fruit and a clean, grainy malt backbone.
Appearance. Pours a hazy, glowing straw to pale orange (SRM 4-6) with an opaque, luminous quality. It is topped with a persistent, rocky, meringue-like white head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by tropical and citrus notes. Prominent scents of pineapple, apricot, and grapefruit are complemented by subtle red berry and earthy pine. The malt provides a clean, grainy, and slightly bready background, while the fermentation profile is exceptionally clean with minimal esters.
Taste. An explosion of fruity hop flavors including passion fruit, tangerine, and ripe cherry. Low to moderate bready malt sweetness provides a foundation for the hop-forward profile. Bitterness is moderate but perceived as soft and well-integrated. The finish is off-dry and smooth, lacking any harsh hop burn, with a long-lasting tropical aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, creamy, and rounded texture. Carbonation is moderate. It offers a slight, well-integrated alcohol warmth without any astringency or raw starch grit.
