Appearance. Deep golden to copper-amber with a slight, natural haze from fresh hop oils. Crowned by a dense, persistent off-white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity with a dominant hop character of dried herbs, black pepper, and damp earth. A notable resinous, cannabis-like quality derived from the fresh Maashorst hops is present. Background notes of toasted bread, biscuit, and light caramel malt provide balance with moderate fruity esters.
Taste. The palate opens with a firm, assertive hop bitterness that immediately commands attention. Flavors of spicy herbal tea and forest floor are prominent, layered over a medium-low bready malt sweetness. The bitterness is clean and well-structured, leading to a very dry, mineral finish where a light, pleasant alcohol presence and lingering peppery hop notes remain.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate to medium-high, accentuating the dry finish. A gentle, integrated alcohol warmth is noticeable but refined.
