On the palate, the beer reveals layers of caramel, nutty toffee, and a restrained roastiness that stops well short of being burnt. The 6% ABV provides a slightly firmer structure than typical session examples, delivering a smooth, medium-bodied experience with a balanced, off-dry finish that lingers with a soft, cocoa-like bitterness.
Appearance. Dark brown with deep ruby highlights (approx. 28 SRM). It displays good clarity despite its depth of color, topped with a moderate, light tan head that shows fair retention and light lacing.
Aroma. Moderate intensity featuring bready and toasty malt notes with a clear chocolate character. Secondary aromas of caramel and hazelnut are present, complemented by a moderate earthy and floral hop character from the wild hops. Low fruity esters suggesting dark berries.
Taste. Initial bready and biscuity malt flavors lead into a moderate chocolate roastiness. Significant caramel and toffee notes provide sweetness, balanced by a medium-low bitterness.
