This collaboration with Pulfer Brewery is defined by an opaque, jet-black appearance and a complex aroma of dark chocolate and freshly roasted coffee. High-roast malts provide a foundational bitterness that is expertly smoothed by the rich, earthy addition of chocolate. The infusion of maple adds a subtle, woody sweetness and a hint of forest-like complexity to the mid-palate. Expect a powerful presence of dark fruit esters like raisins and plums, intertwined with a well-integrated alcohol warmth. Appearance.Opaque jet black (SRM 40+). Pours with a thick, persistent dark mocha-colored head that leaves heavy lacing. High viscosity is evident through visible legs on the glass.
Aroma.High intensity with a rich blend of roasted coffee and bittersweet chocolate. Notes of maple provide an earthy sweetness, followed by dark fruit esters of prunes and raisins. Subtle hints of black licorice and burnt grain are present, with a smooth, warming alcohol character.
