Trinary is a decadent and luscious Imperial Stout that showcases an intricate layering of adjuncts over a robust, dark base. The sensory profile is dominated by the earthy, toasted character of walnuts and the rich, praline-like sweetness of hazelnuts, which meld seamlessly with an exotic, creamy toasted coconut presence. Beneath these adjuncts, the base beer provides a foundation of bittersweet dark chocolate and espresso-like roast. Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque. Pours with a small, dense, dark tan head that shows moderate to low retention due to the presence of adjunct oils. High viscosity is apparent through visible legs on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity featuring deep roasted grain, dark chocolate, and cocoa. Pronounced nutty notes of toasted hazelnut and earthy walnut are balanced by a sweet, tropical coconut aroma. Low dark fruit esters like raisins and plums are present, while hop aroma is absent. A clean, noticeable alcohol warmth rounds out the bouquet.

Taste. Initial impression is rich and sweet with flavors of chocolate-covered hazelnuts and oily, toasted coconut. The mid-palate reveals the slightly tannic, savory depth of walnuts alongside roasted malt bitterness. Malt character is bread-crust and caramel-heavy. Bitterness is moderate to firm but softened by the residual sweetness and adjunct fats. The finish is long and warming with a lingering cocoa and nutty aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Very full-bodied, chewy, and velvety with a thick, luscious texture. Carbonation is low to moderate. A smooth, gentle alcohol warmth is present, providing a pleasant glow without being sharp or solventy.
