This Triple IPA presents an intense sensory experience driven by a Triple Dry Hopping (TDH) regimen of Sabro, Mosaic, and Citra hops. The aroma is saturated with tropical complexity, blending creamy coconut and mint from Sabro with the pungent blueberry and stone fruit notes of Mosaic. Citra provides a bright, citrusy backbone of grapefruit and lime zest. Despite its significant 9.8% ABV, the beer maintains a lean, neutral malt profile that allows the hops to dominate. The palate reflects this hop-forward balance, delivering a firm bitterness and a clean, dry finish characteristic of a modern Double IPA, enhanced by a smooth, warming presence.
Appearance. Gold to light orange-copper (SRM 6-10). Displays a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head with dense lacing. While the style often has good clarity, this heavily dry-hopped example exhibits a modern, slight to moderate haze.
Aroma. High to intense hop aroma featuring prominent notes of coconut, lime, mango, and blueberry. A supportive, neutral, and grainy maltiness is tucked in the background. Fermentation is clean, with a noticeable but smooth alcohol presence that lacks solventy notes.
Taste. Strong and complex hop flavors of tropical fruit, citrus zest, and resin. High bitterness is present but well-integrated and never harsh. Malt character is low and unobtrusive, providing a soft, crackery foundation. The finish is dry to medium-dry, leaving a long, lingering hoppy aftertaste without being heavy.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, velvety texture. Carbonation is moderate. A noticeable, smooth alcohol warmth is present, consistent with its strength, but it remains free of harsh hop-derived astringency.
