Sacred is an opulent Imperial Stout that captures the essence of its extended slumber in bourbon barrels. The experience begins with a deep, layered aroma of dark chocolate, espresso, and molasses, seamlessly integrated with bourbon-soaked oak, vanilla, and toasted coconut. On the palate, it is exceptionally rich and viscous, delivering intense flavors of bittersweet cocoa, charred grain, and dried figs. The bourbon barrel aging imparts a sophisticated warmth and notes of caramel and spice that linger alongside a firm, balancing bitterness. This collaboration with Distant Lands is a harmonious, velvety masterpiece of depth and complexity.

Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque. It supports a small, dense, dark tan head with moderate retention that leaves thick, oily legs on the glass, indicating high alcohol concentration and viscosity.

Aroma. High intensity featuring a complex blend of bittersweet chocolate, roasted coffee, and black licorice. The bourbon barrel influence is prominent, contributing rich vanilla, toasted oak, and a hint of spicy spirit, complemented by moderate dark fruit esters resembling prunes and raisins.

Taste. Deeply complex with an initial impression of rich, dark malts and espresso. The mid-palate reveals layers of caramel, vanilla, and oak tannins from the wood. Bitterness is firm but well-balanced against a significant malt sweetness, leading to a long, warming finish of roasted grain and bourbon.
