Bereta Brewing Co.

This Hazy IPA showcases a sophisticated hop profile led by a specific selection of Nelson Sauvin (Lot PM22) and Citra. The sensory experience is defined by a dense, tropical bouquet where white wine notes of crushed gooseberry and passionfruit collide with Citra's vibrant grapefruit and lime zest. A foundation of soft, bready malt provides a pillowy canvas for these intense hop oils, resulting in a juicy character without harshness. The finish remains smooth and fruit-forward, emphasizing the unique vinous quality of the Nelson Sauvin while maintaining the approachable, lush texture and low bitterness expected of the modern style.

Appearance. Deep straw to pale gold with a distinctive opaque, glowing haze. Topped by a persistent, rocky, meringue-like white head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity hop-forward aroma featuring prominent notes of white grape, passionfruit, and crushed gooseberry from the Nelson Sauvin. These are complemented by bright Citra-driven citrus notes of grapefruit and sweet melon. Background malt is clean and lightly bready, with no caramel or toast, allowing the fruity fermentation esters to dominate.

Taste. Explosive fruit flavors of tropical mango, white wine, and citrus zest. The Nelson Sauvin contributes a sophisticated vinous character, while Citra adds layers of lime and peach. Bitterness is low to moderate and very smooth, never sharp or harsh. The malt offers a soft, grainy sweetness that balances the hop-heavy profile, leading to a medium, fruit-focused finish.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy texture. Carbonation is moderate, contributing to a smooth, creamy mouthfeel without being syrupy or viscous. There is a very slight, well-integrated alcohol warmth and no astringency or hop burn.
