This Specialty IPA presents a striking contrast between its deep, midnight appearance and a modern, vibrant hop profile. The use of Krush and HBC1019 hops drives an intense aromatic display of ripe stone fruit, tropical mango, and a distinct melon-like sweetness. These bright notes dance over a restrained malt foundation featuring subtle layers of chocolate and toasted bread, avoiding any harsh, acrid char. On the palate, a firm bitterness provides the structure expected of the style, while the finish remains clean and surprisingly dry. The result is a smooth, medium-bodied ale that balances shadowy visual aesthetics with a sunny, fruit-forward soul.

Appearance. Deep black and opaque (approx. 38 SRM) with a thick, persistent tan head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by mango, peach, and tropical melon from the Krush and HBC1019 hops. Supportive low malt notes of dark chocolate and light toast appear in the background with a clean fermentation profile.

Taste. Initial burst of juicy tropical and stone fruit flavors followed by a medium-high hop bitterness. Low malt flavors of cocoa and toasted crust provide a soft base that avoids ashy or burnt characteristics. Finishes dry with a lingering citrus and light resinous aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium-bodied with a smooth, creamy texture. Medium carbonation and a light, well-integrated alcohol warmth reflecting the 6.9% ABV.
