Forehead is a quintessential West Coast IPA that showcases a sophisticated hop profile. A vibrant aromatic surge of pink grapefruit and dried rose petals from Talus mingles with the zesty lime character of Motueka. Mosaic contributes underlying notes of blueberry and tropical fruit, while Riwaka provides a punchy citrus oil finish. The sensory experience is defined by a firm, clean bitterness and a dry, crisp finish that emphasizes hop resin over malt. With its brilliant clarity and focused hop delivery, this American IPA balances bold New World fruitiness with the classic piney depth expected of the style.

Appearance. Pours a brilliant medium gold (7 SRM) with excellent clarity. It supports a medium-sized, persistent white head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring a complex blend of lime zest, pink grapefruit, and tropical passionfruit. Subtle floral notes of rose and herbal sage are present, supported by a very low, clean, crackery malt presence and a neutral fermentation profile.

Taste. The initial impression is dominated by intense hop flavors of citrus peel, berry, and resinous pine. A firm, assertive bitterness (approx. 60 IBU) carries through to a very dry, clean finish. The malt provides a light, grainy foundation without significant caramel, allowing the distinctive tropical and citrus notes of the hops to remain the focal point.

Mouthfeel. Medium-bodied with a smooth, crisp texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a lively scrub on the palate. A very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is noticeable but smooth.
