Descent is a vibrant Hazy IPA that showcases a complex hop profile led by Mosaic, Sabro Cryo, Enigma, and Rakau. On the nose, intense notes of blueberry and tropical mango from the Mosaic meet the distinctive coconut and cream of Sabro Cryo. Enigma introduces subtle layers of white grape and melon, while Rakau provides a lush stone fruit foundation. The palate follows with a juicy, fruit-forward explosion, supported by a soft, bready malt presence. It finishes with a restrained bitterness and a smooth, pillowy texture, embodying the juicy character typical of the style while maintaining a high level of drinkability.
Appearance. Straw to deep gold with a heavy, opaque haze and a luminous shine. It supports a thick, meringue-like white head with excellent retention and significant lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward aroma featuring a tropical medley of mango, pineapple, and apricot. The Sabro Cryo contributes a notable coconut and mint undertone, while Enigma and Rakau add nuances of crushed grapes and peach. A clean, lightly bready malt backbone provides support without any caramel or toast, complemented by neutral fermentation esters.
Taste. The flavor leads with an immediate burst of tropical and stone fruits, echoing the hop-derived notes of blueberry, peach, and coconut. Bitterness is moderate but perceived as low due to the soft malt balance. The finish is off-dry and smooth, with a lingering fruit cocktail aftertaste that remains clean and lacks any hop harshness or astringency.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy texture. Carbonation is moderate, contributing to a smooth, creamy mouthfeel without being cloying. Alcohol warmth is light and well-integrated.
