Bell’s Consecrator Doppelbock is a profound expression of the dark German lager tradition, pouring a deep reddish-brown with a thick, creamy head. Following an extensive three-month lagering period, the sensory profile is exceptionally smooth and refined. The aroma is driven by intense Maillard products, featuring rich toasted bread, caramel, and a distinct molasses character. On the palate, the beer is luxuriously full-bodied, showcasing a complex malt sweetness that balances dark fruit notes with a mild hop profile. The finish is remarkably clean and well-attenuated for its strength, leaving a lingering impression of malt richness and a sophisticated, well-integrated alcohol warmth.

Appearance. Deep reddish-brown (18-22 SRM) with ruby highlights; clear to brilliant clarity. Features a large, creamy, and persistent off-white head with excellent lacing.

Aroma. High intensity of rich, deeply toasted malt and Maillard products. Prominent notes of caramel and molasses are complemented by moderately-low dark fruit esters like plums and fruit leather. Virtually no hop aroma; clean lager fermentation profile with a moderate alcohol presence.

Taste. Initial impression is very rich and malty-sweet. Dominant flavors of caramel, molasses, and toasted bread. Hop bitterness is low to moderately low, allowing the malt to remain the focal point. Faint herbal hop flavor is optional but overwhelmed by the malt. Finishes smooth and clean with a lingering malty aftertaste.
