Daft Days Porter presents a decadent interpretation of the English Porter, leaning into a more robust profile with its 6.5% ABV. The sensory experience is dominated by a complex malt grist that yields deep chocolate and roasted espresso notes. Bramling Cross hops introduce a signature British nuance of blackcurrant and subtle spice, while Phoenix hops amplify the cocoa-driven aromatics and earthy depth. Inky-black and full-bodied, it balances a moderate bitterness with a lingering, malty sweetness. The result is a rich, comforting ale where the dark roasted malts provide a sturdy backbone for the dark fruit esters and herbal hop character to shine.

Appearance. Inky-black to dark brown (30+ SRM) with deep ruby highlights when held to light. Topped with a dense, creamy, tan-colored head that shows excellent retention and leaves thick lacing. Opaque in the glass.

Aroma. High intensity of dark chocolate and roasted coffee beans. Bready and toasty malt notes are prominent, complemented by a moderate spicy and blackcurrant hop character from the Bramling Cross. Low to moderate fruity esters of dried plum and a hint of chocolate-forward Phoenix hops.

Taste. Initial impression of bittersweet chocolate and toasted bread. The mid-palate reveals layers of dark-roast coffee and subtle molasses. Hop flavor is moderate, offering an earthy, spicy quality with a touch of dark berry. Bitterness is medium (approx. 30 IBU), providing balance against the malt. Finishes with a lingering, rich malty sweetness and a clean, roasty aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full to full body with a smooth, creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate. A gentle, integrated alcohol warmth is present, consistent with its 6.5% strength. No harshness or astringency from the roasted grains.
