Belhaven Twisted Grapefruit IPA
This vibrant American IPA delivers a sensory explosion of citrus, led by the zesty infusion of real fruit and characterful hops. Brewed with 100% Scottish Pale Malt, the base provides a clean, grainy foundation that allows the Mandarina Bavaria hops to shine with bright notes of tangerine, orange, and floral accents. The addition of Chinook hops introduces a robust, resinous bitterness and deep grapefruit character, perfectly complementing the fresh grapefruit juice and peel. Sharp and zingy, the profile transitions from a juicy, fruit-forward mid-palate to a satisfyingly pithy and bold hop finish that lingers with refreshing clarity.
Appearance. Medium gold with bright copper highlights; brilliant clarity. Generous white head with excellent persistence and fine-beaded lacing.
Aroma. High intensity of fresh grapefruit zest and sweet tangerine. Prominent resinous pine and subtle floral notes follow, supported by a low, clean, crackery malt character. Fermentation is clean with no significant esters.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of juicy grapefruit and orange flesh from Mandarina Bavaria hops. Medium-high hop bitterness, driven by Chinook, provides a firm, resinous counterpoint to the light, toasted grain flavors. The finish is dry and decidedly pithy, showcasing the real fruit infusion with a lingering, clean, hoppy aftertaste.

E’ una birra di colore chiaro, in stile Ipa prodotta con l’aggiunta di succo di pompelmo. Il risultato è contro le aspettative: ci si aspetterebbe una birra super amara a causa del suo stile di base che lo prevede (vengono utilizzati luppoli molto tosti), e dell’aggiunta del pompelmo; invece è una Ipa molto delicata, dal piacevole sapore fruttato ma non stucchevole, dalla bevuta facile, e molto dissetante.
