This sophisticated Blonde Ale presents a brilliant golden hue, delivering an elegant fusion of classic British brewing and Speyside whisky heritage. The sensory profile is defined by a soft, bready malt base enhanced by rich, sweet vanilla and subtle oak tannins derived from Speyside whisky-seasoned wood. Earthy and spicy notes from Challenger and Goldings hops provide a refined counterpoint to the honeyed malt character. Despite its accessibility, the oak aging adds a layer of spirit-driven complexity and a smooth, rounded finish, resulting in a full-bodied interpretation of the style that remains remarkably balanced and approachable.
Appearance. Deep gold (approx. 6-7 SRM) with brilliant clarity. Pours with a moderate, creamy white head that shows fair retention and leaves light lacing on the glass.
Aroma. Moderate malt intensity featuring notes of biscuit and light honey. The Speyside oak influence is prominent, contributing sweet vanilla, toasted wood, and a whisper of malt whisky. Hop aroma is low to moderate, displaying the characteristic earthy, floral, and spicy scents of Goldings and Challenger. Clean fermentation with very low fruity esters.
Taste. Initial soft, bready maltiness quickly layered with vanilla and oak-seasoned sweetness. Medium-low bitterness from the Challenger and Goldings hops balances the malt without becoming aggressive. Hop flavors are floral and slightly herbal. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering note of toasted oak and a gentle warmth from the elevated alcohol content.
