Respect the Denim is a vibrant American Pale Ale crafted in collaboration with Verdant. The grist, featuring Extra Pale, Golden Promise, and a significant addition of oats, provides a soft, pillowy foundation for a distinctively New Zealand hop profile. Utilizing select Nelson Sauvin and Riwaka, the sensory experience is defined by high-intensity aromas of crushed gooseberry and ripe passionfruit. On the palate, those tropical notes transition into a bright, refreshing character with a gentle bitterness that balances the supple malt backbone. This modern interpretation emphasizes hop expression and drinkability, finishing clean with lingering notes of white grape and citrus zest.

Appearance. Pale golden (5-6 SRM) with a soft, slight haze from the high oat content. Renders a moderately large, creamy white head with excellent retention and delicate lacing.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring pronounced tropical fruit, gooseberry, and passionfruit. Clean fermentation profile with a low, supporting malt presence of light biscuit and sweet grain. Subtle notes of lime and crushed grapes emerge as the beer breathes.

Taste. Initial hop-forward impression of passionfruit and melon. The malt provides a supportive, bready character with a hint of sweetness from the Golden Promise. Low-moderate bitterness allows the hop flavors of gooseberry and citrus to lead into a clean, medium-dry finish. No harshness or resinous burn in the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a silky, smooth texture provided by the oats. Moderate carbonation. Clean finish without astringency; no perceived alcohol warmth.
