This celebratory Double IPA pours a luminous, pale straw with a soft haze, showcasing a lavish addition of oats for a silken texture. The aromatic profile is an explosion of tropical fruit salad and gooseberry, driven by a heavy-handed application of Nectaron and Nelson Sauvin hops. On the palate, the T45 hop extracts amplify the intensity, delivering concentrated bursts of ripe peach, passion fruit, and a distinct white wine character. Despite its 8% strength, the beer remains remarkably drinkable with a clean, extra pale malt base that supports the firm bitterness without introducing heavy caramel tones. The finish is crisp and lingering, defined by vibrant hop resins.
Appearance. SRM 4-6. Pale gold with a slight, persistent haze from heavy dry-hopping and oat proteins. Features a moderate-sized, creamy white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by tropical fruit (pineapple, passion fruit) and stone fruit (peach) from Nectaron, accompanied by the signature white wine and crushed grape notes of Nelson Sauvin. Low, grainy-sweet malt presence with a hint of bready oats.
Taste. Initial impression of intense fruit salad—nectarine, mango, and gooseberry. The malt flavor is low and neutral, providing a soft, clean platform for the hops. Bitterness is high but smooth, lacking any harshness. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering vinous and resinous hop aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a notable creaminess and smooth texture attributed to the oats. Moderate carbonation. A light, clean alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated.
