Beercat Dog Days presents as a refreshing take on the American IPA, leaning into its sessionable nature with a vibrant sensory profile. Bright citrus notes lead the charge, followed by delicate floral undertones that evoke a summer garden. Despite its lower alcohol content, it maintains a surprising smoothness, balancing clean, grainy malts with hop-forward aromatics. The finish is notably dry and crisp, making it an ideal companion for light fare. It successfully bridges the gap between high-impact hop flavor and effortless drinkability, offering a harmonious interplay between fruit-forward hops and a supporting toasted malt backbone that remains clean and balanced throughout.
Appearance. Medium gold color (approximately 7 SRM). Exhibits brilliant clarity and is topped by a medium-sized, persistent white head with good lacing.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity hop aroma featuring prominent citrus zest and soft floral notes. Low, clean, grainy maltiness provides a supportive base. Fermentation profile is clean with no significant esters.
Taste. Initial hop-forward impression with flavors of grapefruit and orange citrus. The bitterness is moderate, providing enough structure to balance the low, grainy, and slightly toasted malt character. Fermentation is clean, leading to a medium-dry and crisp finish with a lingering hoppy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, pleasant texture. Moderate to medium-high carbonation provides a refreshing mouthfeel. No alcohol warmth is present.
