Beavertown Neck Oil
Neck Oil is a vibrant Session IPA designed for high drinkability without sacrificing intensity. Built on a lean foundation of Extra Pale malt, it presents an ultra-pale, crisp profile that allows a complex hop blend to shine. A punchy combination of Centennial, Simcoe, Amarillo, Galaxy, Vic Secret, and Mosaic hops delivers a vivid sensory tapestry of tropical fruit, citrus zest, and resinous pine. While Magnum and Columbus provide a clean, assertive bitterness, the overall experience remains light and refreshing. This everyday ale balances its punchy hop character with a remarkably clean finish, embodying a modern, easy-drinking American IPA profile.
Appearance. Straw to light gold (3-5 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a bright white, medium-sized head that shows moderate persistence and light lacing.
Aroma. High hop intensity featuring tropical passion fruit, mango, and pineapple, alongside citrus grapefruit and a background of resinous pine. Low, clean, bready-grainy malt aroma. Clean fermentation profile with virtually no esters.
Taste. Initial impression is crisp and hop-forward. Prominent flavors of citrus peel and tropical fruit from the Galaxy, Vic Secret, and Mosaic hops. Low grainy-sweet malt flavor provides a lean backbone. Medium-high bitterness is clean and sharp. The finish is dry and refreshing with a lingering citrus and resinous aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, watery texture. Medium-high carbonation provides a lively, refreshing prickle. No alcohol warmth or astringency.

The idea was to create a beer that we could drink from 8am in the morning, all day, every day! A brew that you could make your ‘go to’ at any time and still function. So we took decided that this needed to be low ABV, ultra-pale, crisp, light and bang on in your face with the hops! The name comes from an old Black Country term in the middle of England my Great Granddad used to shout on his way out the door: “I’m going down the pub for a pint of neck oil!” Basically he wanted to drink his favourite local beer on mass and lube his thirst after a long hard day in the foundry. This is exactly what we do at the brewery. It’s our everyday, all day, go to Session IPA.
