Designed as a refreshing summer session beer, Wheels Up delivers a bright and hop-forward experience within the American Pale Ale style. Despite its lower ABV, the profile features a bold hop presence driven by Citra and Mosaic, yielding vibrant layers of grapefruit, tangerine, and tropical mango against a backdrop of soft berry notes. A lean, neutral pale malt base provides just enough structure to support the moderate bitterness without adding heavy caramel or sweetness. The fermentation character is exceptionally clean, allowing the modern hop varieties to shine through to a crisp, dry finish. It is a light-bodied, highly drinkable craft ale built for warm weather.
Appearance. Pale golden (5 SRM) and brilliant. Pours with a moderately large, white head with good retention and light lacing.
Aroma. Moderate to high hop aroma characterized by citrus, mango, and a light berry note from the Mosaic and Citra hops. Low grainy-sweet maltiness supports the hops. Clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Hop-forward with flavors of citrus zest and tropical fruit. Low neutral maltiness provides a supportive base. Moderate bitterness leads to a dry, clean finish. Bitterness and hop flavor linger slightly into the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with moderate to high carbonation. Very smooth with no perceptible alcohol warmth or astringency.
